A small team with big ambitions!
Un pequeño equipo con grandes ambiciones!
The Liverpool Telescope team is made up of engineers and scientists at the Astrophysics Research Institute of Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). The Liverpool Telescope (LT) is a fully autonomous 2-metre telescope, which means it does not need any human interaction throughout the night in order to carry out its wide-ranging science observations. To make this work the team combines the software engineering behind autonomous operations with the mechanical engineering of the telescope and enclosure and the detailed optical design of the instrumentation; an ambitious and exciting project.
